Being an alumni of LPU I would rather say that the school of Agriculture in Lovely Professional University is among the best place for pursuing the B.Sc. In agriculture. Eligibility for admission in this course is as follows (a) 10+2 or Intermediate (with English*, Physics Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) or (b) 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) or (c) 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent *Condition of English as a subject may be waived off provided the candidate has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants) Now you would be saying why I am saying like that, actually my cousin has completed his degree from here only. The most significant thing which should be emphasized is that LPU is the first private university which has been approved by ICAR. I along with my cousins had visited the fields, labs. In order to infuse understanding on emerging problems and technologies involved in agriculture field visits are conducted to neighboring farms, orchards and nurseries. Not only subject related education is imparted but also the professional enhancement is added by the university through the different courses like soft skills and communication skills. Major Highlights of the programme that I would be highlighting over here are as follows: a)The course would impart knowledge and understanding of fundamental concepts and techniques of maintaining and enhancing soil fertility, crop production, crop management, crop improvement, biodiversity and sustainability of agriculture worldwide. B)The course would develop the ability to know farming practices and their scope to improve in the rural areas and the environments. C)It would help in applying the knowledge of basic Science through Agricultural microbiology, Plant biochemistry and Biotechnology. No, LPU does not provide B.Tech Agriculture and I'm pretty sure there is no course having engineering in agriculture. Yet LPU provides B.Sc. Agriculture which is the strongest programme at LPU because it is accredited by ICAR. Placements: Top recruiting companies are Tata, Rallis India Limited, Syngenta, and Reliance Stores. All batch members got a decent number of internship opportunities. Almost 50% of the aspirants get the opportunity to do internships in companies like EduCase, Intello Labs Pvt Ltd, and Syngenta. The top roles offered in the course are sales trainee officer and field officer. Infrastructure: Our university has one of the best infrastructures. There are smart classrooms, labs with advanced equipment, Wi-Fi, a library, agriculture fields, and greenhouses. The quality of hostel facilities is great, and the quality of food provided in the mess, canteen and stalls are also good. Our university provided good insights into extracurricular activities such as games, sports, dance, and athletics. Students also get good medical facilities with punctual timing of ambulance installations. Faculty: Teaching quality is promising. Students get highly qualified faculty members. They teach them deep insights into the course with theoretical and practical knowledge. They are always helpful in needy situations related to academics as well as personal. They are knowledgeable. The curriculum provided is relevant to the outside environment of the agriculture sector. Every year the university is adding new courses to compete in the changing world. Helloo, I have spent 4 years in lpu for my studies and I have seen that the agriculture department is one of the finest departments. Well-equipped and well grown from the last couple of years. Moreover, LPU is the first private university got ICAR approval. LPU holds a stellar record in placements as big brands like VLCC Healthcare Ltd. , Ankur Seeds, HDFC, Dhanuka Agritech Ltd. , Ebro India Pvt. Ltd. , etc. Have visited for campus recruitment at packages upto 4.5 LPA. In addition to this, students can attain positions as Agriculture Inspectors, Agriculture Officers, POs, Food Quality Inspectors, Agriculture Development Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, Technical Assistants and administrative posts in government and non-government organizations. Over and above, I also came to know that recently, LPU has been ranked in top 80 amongst all private and government institutes by NIRF, MHRD, GOI which shows the quality being delivered at the institute.

Hi there, Well, being an alumni as well as an existing student at LPU, I would you to join LPU. LPU is nowadays considered as one of the leading private universities in India. Rather than going to praise my university I would like to help you by sharing my own experience. I have pursued Masters degree in mathematics from LPU and now pursuing Ph.D. from the same. I feel joining LPU was one of the best decisions of my life. It has a n amazing and experienced academic staff, all knowledgeable and mostly IITians. Coming directly to your question, as much as i know, LPU does not offer B. Tech Agriculture but B.Sc Agriculture. Based on my personal experience and feedback from the students who have previously studied Agricultural in LPU, school of Agricultural sciences is one of the fastest growing school of Agriculture in the entire region and India. It is being rated as among Punjab and Indias Best Agriculture colleges. It lays thrust on carrying out research in agricultural and allied fields. The university has well equipped laboratories, library, lecture rooms and excellent farm facility to conduct agricultural experiments. Students learn about latest advancements in the field of agriculture, disease resistance, fertilizers and, insecticides with extensive fieldwork and field trips preparing them for the evergreen field of agriculture. Now, in terms of education regulation in field of agriculture in India, ICAR co-ordinates agricultural education and research in the country under the aegis of the Department of Agricultural Research &amp; Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture &amp; Farmers Welfare (Government of India), where Union Minister of Agriculture is its President. It also gives affiliation to education institutes in India. So, LPU School of Agriculture was approved for accreditation with one of the highest ratings among all 8 institutions evaluated at ICARs 22nd Board Meeting. LPU got one of the highest Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Rating of 3.42/4, among all Universities. I can guarantee you that it is perhaps the best private university in India. With more that 35k students inside LPU campus is momentous. Apart from courses overall streams like designing, law, engineering, biotech, the college likewise offers numerous courses in unique fields like engineering, law, architecture, biotech, the university also offers many courses in dynamic fields like journalism, pharmaceutical Science, paramedical Science, physiotherapy, agriculture and considerably much more. LPU students got top packages from leading Agriculture companies. Students of School of Agriculture are placed in Dhanuka, HDFC Bank, Reliance retail, Syngenta, Bio SEED Nestle, Smur Agro, VLCC, Virbac, Amazon, Sanra organics and many more. If I talk about placement in the agriculture programme, the package really depends on what he can show to the recruiters that, how much he is worth or deserved. There were some students who cracked the placement and got offered 1 crore LPA, while many failed to do so. On an average the Agriculture students of LPU are offered and placed in the starting package of 5.5 TO 6 LPA (Fixed salary) while there may be cases of students getting less than that or more than that. Like I said, LPU will provide you the platform and the opportunity, but it is really you who have to go and perform on the platform being provided. Aside amazing placement of Lovely professional university in the agriculture programme, there are many more advantages you will get to join as I am a existing student of LPU I can suggest you with this.
