You'll get a good branch in NIT, don't go for VIT. Though, getting into CSE of Manipal is a big chance. It is really great there. Moreover, other than CSE, you'll get other core branches easily with good NITs. Again, either get into Manipal or Amrita CSE or into other core into the good NITs.
    Best of luck.

For non-core branches, ECE, CSE and there derivatives, you can choose a college with a better reputation, if you get into an NIT, you will have an option of changing branch with some efforts. My suggestion will be to choose the college and non-core/core don't fixate on the branch because it doesn't matter, once you start engineering, you'll see that. So, top 5-7 NITs w

Predict engineering colleges you can get on the basis of your JEE rank: https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/resources/jee-mains-college-predictor?utm_source=cconnect&utm_medium=CR_JEECP&utm_campaign=8321427. Use this link to predict which college u will get in JEE Main counseling if you will get NIIT then it's good if not then prefer VIT because in that much core in BITS you will not get any reputed college in BITSAT like plan, Goa, Hyderabad and VIT is also a good university and offers good placements for CSE, IT, ECE.

You should visit https://josaa.nic.in/webinfocms/public/view.aspx?page=46 for idea of NITs you may get with your rank. Your rank 17700 is very good. For BITSAT score 225 you wouldn't get any seat in BITS.
