Should I opt. for petroleum engineering or CSE branch at UPES or any other college? I'm studying in 12th.

It depends on your interest if you have interest on CSE than you should choose CSE otherwise petroleum engineering. With CSE you'll get average placement around 4 lakhs per annum and with petroleum, it will be a bit difficult to find jobs but once you'll government job than your pay scale will be around 6 lakhs per annum and also you have to crack GATE. -
If you get any IIT or NIT and any good private college like BITS or some Karnataka college then it will be a better choice. But if you want to take admission in UPES then first of all, you should go for petroleum engineering because UPES has the best placement record for petroleum engineering. After this you should opt CSE. CSE also has good placements but not more than petroleum engineering.
