The SSC CGL 2023 test will only be offered in two stages. To be appointed, the candidates must pass both rounds of testing. The SSC CGL exam pattern was updated by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in order to speed up the hiring process. The descriptive Tier 3 exam is not included in the exam procedure, and the DEST has been combined with the Tier 2 exam. It is unclear if this alteration to the SSC CGL exam pattern is momentary or long-term.

SSC CGL 2025 exam will be conducted in two stages only. The candidates need to clear both stages to get appointed. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) revised the exam pattern of the SSC CGL to expedite the recruitment procedure. The DEST is merged with the Tier 2 exam and the descriptive Tier 3 is not there in the exam process. It is not clear whether this is a temporary or permanent change in the SSC CGL exam pattern.

The SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 exam was conducted from September 12 to 26 and on October 14.
