Moderate and consistent cut-off trends have been observed by GIBS over the past few years for various national entrance exams (CAT MAT) with respect to PGDM applicants. The general trend of CAT cutoffs for shortlisting PGDM applicants has been 60%ile, although this has been interpreted more as an average than an absolute figure. This is a clear example of GIBS using a holistic admissions policy for its applicants and not just relying on the CAT scores.

From what I've seen and heard around campus, GIBS doesn't keep crazy strict CAT or MAT cutoffs. Over the last few years, the focus has been more on overall performance, not just one exam score. If your CAT or MAT score is decent, it definitely helps — especially for scholarships and profile strength — but it's not like “score low = no chance.”
Usually, better CAT/MAT scores mean better scholarship options, and average scores are still perfectly fine for admission if you do well in the interaction and show genuine interest. A lot of people here joined with different score ranges, and everyone still gets equal exposure once inside
