What are the government job opportunities after completing a UG/PG course in Sociology ?

Sociology is the study of social activities happening in modern and ancient times and finding the possible reason for these issue. There are a lot of job opportunities for sociology graduates. They can work as journalist, research, in NGOs, Law Firms, advertising market and many more. They can also work as educator, business consultant and statistical development for big companies. Government release vacation for these graduates to work for their program and finding the way which helps the citizens with these works. Generally, government gives job to these graduates for research and finding the best possible way which helps citizens. After doing a Master's course in this, one can go for civil service exam and sociology is one of the scoring subjects in these high level exams. They can also go for NET exam by this sociology graduate and they can easily get the job of lectures.

You can write KPSC or UPSC exams, even banking exams. Also, you can write police department exams. You can write postal department exams. There are many such exams.

Hi, There are numerous opportunities for a sociology graduate in government sector- A graduate in sociology can pursue Masters in sociology and appear for UGC National Entrance Test (NET) or State Entrance Test (SET) and apply for Assistant professor position in government universities across India. One can also appear for Union Public Service Commission and State Public Service Commission exams. Staff Selection Commission is also a very good option if you are looking government job. By qualifying Staff Service Commission one can become income tax officer, Customs officer, Excise Inspector, government Auditor, PA to Union and State secretaries. Sociology is a study of human behaviour and due to this fact, you can find the applicability of sociology in almost every part of organisation. Those students who have done their Masters with sociology major can work in the HR Team, Marketing Team and etc. In many areas it can help to make career other than teaching and researching. Media, NGO, Public Relations, Industrial organisations, HR management etc. Any sort of organisation where human dealing is the core. Major work areas like preparing Questionaari, doing research, conducting interviews and lot more were your job responsibility. Apart from working in Corporate world, Sociology graduates can apply for jobs in the Census Bureau, policy analysis, homeland security, Social Science analysis, administration and federal agencies. Hi, It is a generalist degree, so none in particular. It is like studying philosophy or English. You can become a social worker, but that might require another year or two of training. Depending on your skill set, you can also find positions in statistics, research design, data analysis, etc. But, graduation rates are such that most of these spots are taken by those with Masters. Again, don't expect to apply for a job as a sociologist with your Bachelor's degree. One thing you would have learned in your education is that the best sources of information (and capital and resources) flow through social connections. So, make them, and use them. Use your understanding of society to navigate your way through it, but don't expect anyone to hire you for that knowledge directly. All the best.
