    After completing their studies at IISER, students have various job opportunities, including joining R&D departments of private companies or government research organizations, working as scientific communicators, and teaching at coaching institutes. The latest data from IISER Pune placements in 2023 indicates that 13 BSc students were placed with a median package of INR 11.40 LPA. Additionally, the NIRF report for 2024 shows that 14 UG students were placed with a median salary package of Rs. 8,30,800 during IISER Pune placements in 2023.     Alumni of IISER Pune are employed by prestigious businesses across many industries. Unofficial sources claim that the majority of alumni are employed in the field of research. Next in line was the education industry. A significant number of alumni work in several industries, including operations, media and communication, information technology, engineering, business development, arts and design, and community and social services.

    IISER Pune alumni are placed in top-notch companies in varied sectors. According to unofficial sources, the majority of alumni are working in the Research sector. This was followed by the Education sector. Some of the other sectors which involve a large chunk of alumni are Engineering, Business Development, Media and Communication, Information Technology, Operations, Arts and Design, Community and Social Services, etc.
