What documents are acceptable for foreign nationals to appear in GATE exam?

GATE allows foreign nationals to appear for the entrance examination. However, they have to travel to India to appear for the exam. To attempt the GATE 2026, foreign nationals have to carry the following documents to the exam centre -
- A valid passport
Or any other valid photo ID issued by their government, a driving license is acceptable.
Candidates must note that they have to carry their GATE admit card and valid ID proof to the exam centre.
