What is the difference between bachelor of design and B.Sc interior and furniture design? Can I get admission without appearing in LPUNEST?

Dear Sakshi, Basically the difference between these two programs are of course duration B.Sc. Interior and furniture design takes 3 years (6 semesters) whereas Bachelor of design or B. design takes 4 years (8 semesters). # While offering B.Sc. (Interior and furniture Design), the intent of LPU is to meet the expectations of the industry creating a Symbiosis between technical, creative and artists. # With best of my knowledge in B-Design their focus is just on providing professional degree offering skills in practical interior design and execution and full-scale furniture design and fabrication through rigorous studio work and hands-on workshops. To satisfy and eligibility criteria for both of these programs a candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in 12th class and English should be studied as a subject. Online admissions are already open and I have heard that lovely professional University has also announced worth Rs 20 Crore amount of scholarships to the corona virus survivors in the name of "COVID-19 FRONTLINE SCHOLARSHIP". B. Des in Interior and Furniture Design will carry more professional study from a good foundation learning to professional assignments, work projects, modules and a curriculum that is more industry-specific.</p><p>The eligibility criteria of both of courses is same as 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English) or equivalent. The course fee per semester is INR 4.8 - 7.2 Lakh for both of courses. The LPU NEST is compulsory for both of courses and in favor of students. On the basis of performance in LPU NEST you can get the maximum 40% scholarship also.</p>

Design is a 3 year programme, it depends on the student whether they have to pursue B. Design or B.Sc. In B. Design, the 4th year is mainly concentrating on the course work. You can avail admission online if you are complying the eligibility criteria I. e. 60%in 10+2 along with English, so fulfillment of this condition helps you in acquiring seat in design stream in LPU. LPU is the only university which offers 3d printing and Laser cutting techniques for the students. Internships start from 9th semester. LPU provides a learning experience with a promise to introduce innovation. Here, an experienced team of professionals guide their students in experimental designing and production. No other university helps in the placements as LPU does. Council of Architecture (C. O. A) approved curriculum with an emphasis on designing and software skills. In this case, LPU NEST acts as a scholarship parameter which helps in reduction of programme fee. To avail the highest slabs of scholarships, you must finish up you online admission process before August 31, 2020. Des in Interior Design will include more professional studies, including professional assignments, work projects, modules, and a more industry-specific curriculum. The eligibility of B Design fashion is Pass with 50 percent aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST or CUET or UCEED or Under Graduate NID DAT (Prelims) or Under Graduate NIFT or NIFT B.FTech. LPUNEST is mandatory. You cannot skip it. However, if you have qualified any of the valid national tests you can get exemption from LPUNEST.&nbsp;</p>
