While both the examinations are persued by candidates who want to apply for higher studies in reputed universities and colleges. The key difference is that GMAT scores are accepted mostly in buisness schools whole GRE scores are accepted both in buisness schools and law schools.
The difficulty level of both the examinations is almost similar in one way or the other.
GMAT has less questions based on geometry while GRE has more in the same .
Quantitative section tends to be a little easier for students appearing in GRE examination than GMAT because the former allows calculator.
