It is ideal to score above this mark or rank under 15,000 to be on the safer side and increase possibilities of admission to a top institute of the country. IIT or NIT cut off depends upon many factors like total number of candidates appeared, kind of exam and certain normalization. The cut off for general category is approximately 90 percentile means in order to get seat in top institutes your rank should be good. If at all you don't get a seat in older IITs and NITs, then it is better to come to LPU for the engineering programs. The admission criteria is either JEE Mains or LPU NEST if you have 60% or above in 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and English. There are certain scholarships too. I wish you luck to get your dreams fulfilled for IITs and NITs but I will advice you yo be ready with Plan B for identifying other good Private engineering institutes because now-a-days private engineering instates like LPU are doing good in imparting quality education and henceforth placement.
