The AILET syllabus and exam pattern is the testing of your skills and knowledge which if cleared will be your gateway to getting LL.B. Admission in the NLU law course. The AILET entrance examination tests on various skills apart from just the legal aptitude. The various sections in AILET syllabus and exam pattern includes English language and Comprehension, General Knowledge, Mathematical Aptitude and Reasoning, along with a section dedicated to Legal Aptitude as well. Hi, All India Law Entrance Test is the entrance exam conducted by National Law University, Delhi for admission to its 5-year degree program. The pattern of AILET is very different from all other exams. The exam is divided into 5 sections which include English, General Knowledge, Maths, Logical Reasoning and Legal Reasoning. 150 questions, carrying one mark each are to be answered in 90 minutes. Further, there is no negative marking. To prepare for AILET, one must give equal attention to all the subjects. For English, you can use Word Power by Norman Lewis and Six Weeks to Word Power For General Knowledge, you can use Lucent or Pearson and magazines for current affairs. For Maths, refer to M Tyra or RS Agarwal For Logical, refer to MK Pandey For Legal, refer to past year paper Further, the material provided by coaching institute is the best source for preparing.

Like most entrance exams for law, AILET also follows a similar pattern. The following are the topics that the paper is divided into (along with my inputs on how to prepare): 1. English - Brush up your Basic English and comprehension to prepare for this section. 2. General Knowledge - This is a very wide category and covers a lot of topics, including science and basic history, geography. It will also include general knowledge (both static and current). It is advisable to pick a guide for general knowledge and go through it. 3. Legal Aptitude - Will include some landmark judgments, basic provisions of the Constitution, important provisions of some Acts like Contract Act, Transfer of Property Act, etc. 4. Basic Maths - Brush up basic maths till class 10th. That should be sufficient. This are does not carry a lot of weight so care should be taken not to spend a lot of time on it if the questions seem difficult. 5. Preparation: Pick up Universal Guide to LLB and prepare from it, cover to cover. Once you are through with that, you can pick up other books focusing on separate areas to hone them better. 6. Strategy: For preparation, go through previous 5 years papers to get used to the patters. Next step would be to focus on your string areas and make them stronger. While giving the exam, focus on sections that you are best prepared for. This will give you a good momentum for the rest of the paper. Your morale will also be boosted.
