What precautions LPU is taking for COVID?

Here are several special arrangements that have been done for the student's safety during this pandemic situation. They are- 1) University premises is sanitized daily even if the students are there or not. 2) Masks are mandatory to wear on the campus. 3) Thermal Scanning is done regularly. 4) The strength of the classes will be less abiding the rules of social distancing. 5) Online teaching is there to avoid the loss of studies. There are many other changes that the university is going to make further for the safety of the students and I can say that LPU will do its best. Thanks.

Dear Aspirant, The COVID-19 pandemic situation has affected every sector of the Economy including the Educational Institutes. Most Educational Institutes are facing the pressure of providing quality education. Lovely Professional University is making the best efforts to provide quality education. LPU is using the online platform for Admission Services and classes. Myclass, LPUTouch, and UMS platforms are used to provide online assistance for Academics and classes. From the admission process to Time Table of classes, Attendance, Lecture Notes, Assignments, Projects, Assessment Tests all are available on the Online platform. Moreover, LPU is taking all the precautions related to the covid-19 situation. The Health and Safety of employees and students is the main priority. Proper precautions are being followed on the Campus also. As of now, LPU has started hybrid mode classes (online+Offline). There are multiple measures taken at the University to ensure safety and security during COVID times. They include :- CAMPUS PREPAREDNESS: Temperature and other checks at entrance points of the university. All the members of faculty and staff are required to follow the COVID-19 related policies and requirements as stated by State/ Central Government. Additional measures include: Regular Cleaning & Disinfecting of workspace. Restrictive entry in the campus for all outsiders. 24X7 medical and health support through in-house Campus Hospital. Work from home option given to members having any health concerns. INITIATIVES IN RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES: To ensure the safety of students who would be residing in hostels, university has planned following initiatives: Regular Thermal scans for every individual entering the hostel premises. Respiratory Masks to be worn by everyone at the time of leaving the room. Sanitization of hostel rooms and other infrastructure facilities like common rooms etc. including play areas as per govt. norms Timing of consuming food in the Hostel mess to be staggered to ensure social distancing norms. Option of packed food and room service is also being explored. Uni Hospital situated at the heart of the campus is fully equipped to take care of the medical needs of the staff and students and is operational 24x7 with following facilities to manage all sort of medical emergencies. 25 bedded hospital staffed with well qualified doctors, nurses and lab technicians. Full time qualified doctors including a general physician, pathologist, ophthalmologist, dentist along with a physician from traditional Ayurvedic system of medicine. Visiting specialists once a week for providing specialty clinics. Tie up with Twenty-five hospitals for referral cases requiring specialized medical intervention. Equipped to provide various services such as handling emergencies, minor surgeries at Uni Hospital 24X7 Chemist shop where medicines are available at subsidized rates. Qualified psychologists available for counseling. Physiotherapy OPD available with experts for handling cardiovascular, neurological, orthopedic, sports and pediatric physiotherapy. Specialized labs have been set up including Electro diagnostic and Electro therapeutic modalities, Orthopedics and Sports Rehab, Neurological Rehab, Cardiopulmonary Rehab, and Pediatrics Rehab. Due to COVID-19, I was much tensed for the safety of one of my niece who took admission last year. On inquiring from the counsellors, I came to know that LPU has taken the major initiatives for the new start of session which are as follows: 1. Wearing of mask by all 2. Daily sanitation 3. Strict rules of movement 4. All the hostel rooms and buildings to be sanitized and unnecessary movement of anyone is prohibited 5. No big gathering 6. Thermal scanners 7. Online classes to be initiated first and then following the directions of GoI as and when required. 8. Distancing to be followed in sitting in class as well I. e leaving one seat and then next student will sit 9. Extending the timings of 9-5 so that there is no loss of class 10. Classes to be scheduled on weekends as well to avoid the loss 11. MOOC courses to be allotted to the student 12. Strength of class to be mellowed down. After coming to know these initiative, I was bit relaxed. Furthermore the following initiatives have been planned in residential areas where students will be staying: 1. Wearing of mask by all 2. Daily sanitation 3. Strict rules of movement 4. All the hostel rooms and buildings are sanitized and unnecessary movement of anyone is prohibited 5. No big gathering 6. Thermal scanners Over an above nearly 4000+ cameras are installed in University for the safety and security of the student. Now I am relaxed because of the initiatives of the University to provide best to the students. LPU believes in delivering what it claims that it is doing. Waiting for this pandemic to end soon so that economy starts recovering. I will advise you to book the seat the earliest because seats are getting filled fast I. e both academic and residential.
