Hi Sourav. Speaking from a general perspective I think petroleum would not be a good choice in making a career. As you may know Oil and Gas industries are facing recession right now, this field is full of apprehension. Petroleum is a fossil fuel and is definitely going to experience shortages in the long run. Assuming you are planning to work in this field for the next 40 years, you may have to experience majors ups and downs in your career.
On the other hand, if you plan to shift your career after working, say, 10 years in this field, then you may go ahead and consider this option.

I think Petroleum Engineering is a better subject now days because it have been Demanding course after 20-25 years no of countries will fight for fuel now day will increasing fuel cost for every year so it was best course, model companies still awaiting for petri engender
