What should I prefer after BCA - Job or Further Studies?

Hi, After completing BCA you have 2 options: 1.To opt for a job. 2.To opt for further studies (MBA, MCA etc) However as per your profile I would suggest you to work for 2-3 years and then opt for further studies. The advantage of this step would be: - You will gain relevant work experience. - After working you will know which course to pursue that can further enhance your career prospects, i.e. if you wish to build your career in computer field, then you may pursue MCA, whereas if you are interested in management then you may pursue MBA. - If you are interested in pursuing MBA, then this work experience would help you to decide which specialization to opt in MBA that can further enhance your career prospects, however as per your profile pursuing MBA in IT would be the best option for you. - Plus this work experience of yours will also be an added advantage for you during campus recruitment in MBA, as most companies would surely prefer an experience candidate over a fresher for a job. Finally if you work for some years then you may yourself manage the expenses for your further studies. Please note that, the final selection in full time MBA or PGDM program is made on the basis of: 1. Education background of the students. i.e. 50% marks in graduation. 2. Score in various management entrance tests like CAT, MAT, XAT, etc 3. Performance in group discussions and personal interview. 4. Work experience if any. 5. Job prospects for a BCA graduate are available in various areas like programming, networking, system administration etc. There are many companies which specialize in these areas like WIPRO, TCS etc. But the scope is not limited to the IT companies. Most organizations whether big or small nowadays will have requirements in the IT sections. OR 2) You may start working. 1) If you plan to study, then you may opt for : -Master of Commerce in Finance & Computer Applications -Master of Commerce in Computer Applications -Master of Commerce in Computer Oriented Business Application -Master of Business Administration You may even opt for diploma courses such as : -Oracle -CISCO Certifications -Software Development -Red Hat Certifications Choose a course which matches your interest and time availability. 2) If you plan to work, then below are the details : After completing the course, you may seek employment in public and private sectors, banking, insurance, accounting, stock markets, e-commerce and marketing. You can also opt for teaching jobs in universities and colleges. You may work as : -Auditors -Book Keepers -Budget Analysts -Finance Managers -Teacher/lecturer -Marketing Managers -Business Consultants * Salary depends on various parameters such as size of the organization, profile, qualification, experience etc. But, to give you a brief idea, the initial salary starts from Rs 15, 000 - Rs 20, 000 per month.
