Hi,
If you can manage your college studies as well as the preparation for the MBA entrance exams then only I would advise you to join a coaching class while you're in the final year. If done diligently, the MBA exam preparation usually takes 4-6 months depending on your aptitude and time devoted for the same.
The majority of the top colleges always give some significant weightage to your past academic scores i.e. class 10th, 12th and graduation while shortlisting candidates for the interview rounds. So you should not compromise with your graduation studies at the expense of these entrance exams. If it's not possible to manage the time p...more -

As you have mentioned that you are in the 2nd year of your Bachelor's degree if you are capable enough then you should start from now only, just join a coaching institute for one year, complete the course and try to practice on it for next year in the same manner without coaching and also take exams continuously for 2 years which help to get experience of paper and show you where you are lacking and you get chance to improve in the second year.
Good luck. -
The best time to start preparing for your CAT is while you are in your 2nd year as while you are in your 3rd year, you need to concentrate on your boards. You even have an option to prepare for your CAT after completing your graduation but that will be like wasting a year.

You can start this year only but also keep in mind that you must be able to keep up with your college studies. If you think you can give justice to both, your college studies and MBA preparations, you can start right away. Coachings might have started taking student by now, I think. You can enquire your nearby centers. But again, don't neglect your own studies because graduation percentage is considered while college applications.

Now is the high time to begin your preparation but if you fear that you won't be able to cope up with your college studies then I suggest you should start your preparation after your college ends.
All the very best. -
It all depends on you. First, grab some sample papers and get to know the syllabus. Then, decide where you stand. Coaching institutes provide 1 year full time, weekend, evening classes etc. some even can make it without coaching institutes and by self study. Start preparing, keep on solving.
