Which are the most important topics to focus in MUOET?

MUOET is the exam quite tough to score as they check the overall performance of the student. Here few topics for preparation which helps to score more in the exam:- 1) In mathematics cover topics like Trigonometry, Complex number, Matrix and determinant, application of derivatives, straight line, 3D Geometry, Limits & Continuity, Conic section. 2) In chemistry cover State of matter, Chemical bonding, Thermodynamic, Equilibrium, hydrogen, General organic chemistry, Solution, Electrochemistry, Extraction of metals, P&S block elements, Aldehyde ketone & Ether, Biomolecules. 3) In physics cover Law of motion, Gravitation, Work power & energy, Rotation motion, Sound waves, Electricity, Magnetic effect of current, Wave Optics, Semiconductor devices, Dual nature of matter and Radiation. 4) English is mostly a cakewalk for ICSE/CBSE students.Brush up your tenses, active/passive voice. Lay emphasis on synonyms and antonyms which are pretty common. You will not come across out of the world questions.Class 10th knowledge of ICSE/CBSE is enough. No separate preparation required.

MUOET is the toughest exams engineering exam held for any private engineering institute. The one thing that makes it tougher is its high level of logical reasoning and the high class English asked. Also the paper contains no separate sections for the three subjects and all the questions from each subject are arranged randomly. Now, topics one should follow are: Physics - Optics, Thermodynamics, Oscillations and waves, Electrostatics, Electromagnetic Induction, Gravitation, heat, AC DC circuits, simple harmonic motions, motion in 1D and 2D and circular rotational motion. Maths - Calculus including application of derivatives and area under curve, Vectors, Matrices and Determinants, Differential Equations, Permutations and Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Sequence and Series and probability. Chemistry- Thermodynamics, periodic properties, whole organic thoroughly, S, P, D and F blocks, metallurgy, biomolecules and polymers and atomic structure. For English get a high school grammar book and study parts of speech, models, articles, tenses and active and passive voice.

I would suggest covering entire portions. Put some efforts in and do it and solve the mock papers. Important thing is that you should do timed practice as the MUOET is known for being lengthy. Give some mock tests to make sure you can handle the time management part. Also make sure you solve last year’s papers. For revision or if you have less time focus on following chapters Physics - Wave Optics, Thermodynamics, Oscillations and waves, Electrostatics, Electromagnetic Induction & A.C, Gravitation, Behavior of perfect gas and kinetic theory. Maths - Calculus, Conic sections, Vectors, Matrices and Determinants, Differential Equations, Permutations and Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Sequence and Series. Chemistry - Revise the inorganic part, physical formulas for direct questions and some famous named reactions of organic chemistry. Do P block efficiently as it is lengthy. Check for repeating patterns in previous papers. Don't only focus on theory and solve as many questions possible for preparation.

MU-OET is Manipal University Online Entrance Examination and is the only the admission criteria for admission in B.Tech and MBBS. The important subjects are mathematics, biology, chemistry, English and physics depending on the course you are opting for. Since you have not specified the stream, I shall tell all the important topics in each subject: 1: Physics- For physics, syllabus in 11th standard is not quite helpful and the basics of physics in that level are only things that shall be helpful. You can focus on 12 standard topics such as electromagnetics, electrics, optics, etc. You should try to try to focus more on the easy formula based questions from modern physics and nuclear physics. 2: Chemistry: Like in most of the entrance examinations, organics chemistry questions are the one that will certainly get you easy marks if your concepts are clear and are quite easy too. You also have to focus on topics as chemical bonding and chemical kinetics. Apart from these topics, physical chemistry will also be quite helpful too. 3: Maths: Again topics covered in 11th standard might come handy. Important topics that you can definitely master for good score are matrix and determinants, and 3D and vector algebra. Integration and differential, and complex numbers are also important. All the topics are equivalent to JEE Mains or basic exams like BITSAT. The only thing that is extra and you need to focus on is English. English is a significant part and is also a scoring subject so you would not want to miss on that. Also, make sure that you have good time management and you have at least tried taking some exams with a stopwatch to know your pace. In this examination, the real challenge is not difficulty because the paper is quite fundamental and basic, but time management is something that makes it a bit challenging. If your fundamentals are clear then you need not worry, just make sure that you are time efficient. Since total question count is 200 and time allotted is 150 minutes, it becomes quite difficult to manage time. If you are stuck on a question, leave it.
