The field totally depends on interest, be it finance, marketing, HR or any other. CAT 2018 exam will be in the year's end, I.e. November-December. Getting a percentile of atleast 90 will fetch you a reputed B-School.

Dear Blecy, There's no such fields as the best one or the most preferred one. It is completely based on one's own preference and passion. At initial stages you might not come across them but by the time you study a few of the subjects, you will understand the domains and have a clear knowledge of what you want to do and in what direction do you want to take your career into. As far as the CAT Scores are concerned, it will depend on your target college. But any score about 90 will fetc.h you a satisfactory opportunity. Good Luck!.
