How do you compare computer applications programs? Well, I can give you following parameters: Curriculum : If at all the curriculum is continuously upgraded and developed with consultations and feedback of industry. Since it is a highly dynamic field, you cant afford a program which is stuck in obsolete syllabi. Pedagogy : The teaching pedagogy forma the backbone of how the program is delivered, more the practical, better it is. Maximum exposure to practicals and internships more chances of becoming a well rounded professional. Technology: The businesses and the business functions are now highly tech driven, the tech program must have the exposure and training of the same. The world leading technologies like SAP, GitHub, Advance excel etc are must for any professional to succeed in career. Industry interface: Ultimately its the industry which is going to immerse the students in the placements, the regular industrial talks, interactions, lectures, visits and internships are must have in any tech program. Professional etiquette: It is the most important part these days, the personality, ethics, virtuous, speech, body language, interpersonal skills etc are given high importance in the organisations. The program must include the training or modules on all these. Diversity: As he world shrinks into a aligned economy, the professionals will be required to work in cross cultural teams having entirely different work culture and ethos, the national and international diversity of students in a college is helpful in enabling the students develop right sensibilities for such work atmosphere. Dear Bhavuk, I stayed in LPU hostel during my post graduation years ,and I had few friends from BCA course so I have idea about this course.Students learn about some interesting subjects like Mathematics, Computer Programming, Computer Networking, Database Management Systems and, Software Engineering. Besides the core compulsory subjects, students can choose from a wide variety of subjects as their pathway elective or minor elective. They told me their department have separate laboratories for all the domains: Programming Lab,Networking Lab, Systems and Architecture Lab, Databases Lab, Software,Engineering Lab. Although, choosing electives thoughtfully might not sound like a big deal in your first year. However, they make a huge difference to your career. For example, if you want to study further after BCA, you can choose pathway electives like Artificial Intelligence, or if youre looking forward to adding more skills to your resume to find a good job, you can opt for pathway electives like Javascript, Front-End Web Development, App Development, etc. Their department conducted guest lectures for BCA students by IBM, DCDS, ANR Infotech,kayako Infotech, NIIT, Indian Air force, Wipro BPO, Google, Safaltech,Pigford, AMCAT, RED, Betasoft, etc. Students are involved in various live projects,They attended session on Android Apps development. The workshop was conducted by Er The School also organized 18 hours Workshop and Hands-on. Mayank RajJaiswal of Techknow Innovators, working as smartphone software development in Samsung R&D currently in South Korea Samsung headquarters. The main aim of this workshop was to make the students familiar with the application development technology and recent advances in this field. Department conducted one day workshop on Digital Electronics was also organized by school of computer applications where students of BCA were taken to the digital lab where they got the live exposure to working on the instruments and equipment used in digital electronics. Placements in LPU are good if you are a brilliant student and you have better ideas and projects with you. Internship experience also helps. The average salary package offered is 3 LPA to 4 LPA. The highest salary package offered is between 9 LPA to 11 LPA. Companies like Amazon, Infosys, TCS and many other companies visit our campus for placements.
