Vellore Institute of Technology University is located in Vellore and Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal. For computer science branch, both of them are famous colleges which come under top 10 private engineering colleges in India.
However, I would like to suggest you that you should choose Vellore Institute of Technology (main campus) than Institute of Technology because of the following reasons:
    1. The fee structure of Manipal Institute of Technology in Computer Science Engineering is about 12 LPA in total whereas fee structure of Vellore Institute of Technology is about 7.5 LPA in total.
    2. Faculty of Vellore Institute of Technolog

Go for Manipal University (main campus). MIT Manipal is known for its quality education. It has excellent infrastructure and faculties too. It is in top 50 ranks by National Institution ranking framework among the Indian Engineering colleges. Manipal has almost 100 percent placement for the computer science department and almost 92 percent overall placements.
Manipal has gained the respect of students through its performance throughout the years.
On the other hand, I think VIT is all about advertising. They just want to make profits.
Whatever your rank in VITEEE you can get into CSE by paying more. It is like they are selling seats.

Every time I talk about MIT Manipal, I talk about the main campus only not including Jaipur Campus or Sikkim Campus.
Any branch from the main campus is good and that too if its Computer Science and Engineering, it's excellent. I don't know much about VIT but Manipal Institute of Technology has been ranked in top 1000 engineering colleges all over the world by QS world rankings I.e. it is the only private engineering college of India to reach this landmark.
From academics point of view, the college is provided with hardcore facilities of specific subjects, mostly doctorates from IITs. All kinds of labs are available here along with guest

The first thing you should keep in mind while choosing between VIT and MIT should be which campus you are getting. If it is the main campus, i.e. Vellore and Manipal then you can go for either of the two as there isn't much difference between both in terms of placement, campus life and stuff. But if you are getting any other campus other than the main campus in MIT i.e if you are getting either Jaipur or Sikkim, I would recommend you to prefer VIT even if it is Chennai campus, because of the placement record of the previous years for both the colleges. But, coming to campus life, the life here in VIT, Chennai is more like a routine, th
