Which of these is better: BE in Telecommunication Engineering from MSRIT or BE in CSE from BMSCE?

MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology and BMS College of Engineering are the best private colleges in India. They both are known for their faculties, infrastructure and campus so there is no comparison between the colleges based on faculties, infrastructure and campus. Now let's talk about the courses that these colleges are providing that is BE in telecommunication engineering of MSRIT and BE in CSE from BMSCE. Telecommunications engineering, or telecoms engineering, is an engineering discipline centered on electrical and computer engineering which seeks to support and enhance telecommunication systems. The work ranges from basic circuit design to strategic mass developments. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is an academic program at some universities that combines aspects of both computer science and computer engineering programs. Computer science programs typically centers primarily on theory and software, with only some hardware, upper division courses tend to allow a lot of freedom to specialize in software and theory related areas. Now let's talk about the placements offered by these courses in the universities: Telecommunication engineering from MSRIT bags the average package of around 3 to 4 lacs. Computer science engineering from BMSCE bags the average package of around 5 to 6 lacs. Last, I would like to suggest you that first make up your mind that which branch you want to take or which branch would be best for you and then decide upon the colleges.

First of all you need to make up your mind as to which field excites you. Both these colleges are really good and up to the mark in the respective departments you mentioned. If you want placement and don't have a problem in giving up your passion for that, you can readily take up CSE as in the current scenario CSE has a reputation of having the most number of opportunities. Considering the other case, where if you want to go for telecommunication it is a really diverse field and has almost equal number of opportunities as CSE has. Also, MSRIT is among the top four colleges in Bangalore, i.e. the colleges one can get through COMEDK. It has very nice faculty and has one of the biggest (exactly second largest) infrastructure countrywide. In an ideal case if you want to go by your passion, you are free to choose the college of your choice, as they both are reputed colleges and are sure to provide you with a decent placement. Again, it is a war of the branches not the colleges for you.

Hey, So, I am a student of BMS College of Engineering. I can give you a quick insight of CSE branch in our college. When it comes to placements, CSE is at top all the time. And in our college, we get a lot of exposure to improve our skills. There will be a lot of hackathons and codeathons that will be conducted. We have oir technical fest called Phaseshift in the month of September which is a like a festival to all the BMSCians. It is a platform where you get to showcase your skills and put the things learnt in the theory to use. If you are looking for a lot of competition and improvement of your skills I would say BMS is a very good option. And I am sorry I don't know much about PES.
