It depends on your score in 12th and entrance tests. Considering you are bright and are in a position to choose from, it is totally open and you may choose any stream which is interesting to you. Job prospects are same for such bright students (who get to choose disciplines rather than allotted)
For above average students, Mech/Elec/E&C/E&I /Chem all are good, provided you are studying in a decent institution. Even civil is good, considering the infra spree being witnessed in the country now. For average & below average students, it is difficult to get a job, irrespective of the stream.

It is based on your grade point average and admission exam results. It is completely open for you to choose any stream that interests you, given that you are intelligent and have a variety of options. For such gifted students, the job chances are the same (who get to choose disciplines rather than allotted)
If you are a student in a respectable institution and are above average, Mech/Elec/E&C/E&I/Chem are all good options. Given the current infrastructural binge in the nation, even peaceful discourse is preferable.
