The CA exam pattern is prescribed by the ICAI. The CA course structure and pattern of exam is prepared by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and is divided into three levels namely the CA Foundation, CA Intermediate and CA Final. Candidates have to clear the three levels one by one to be certified as a Chartered Accountant. All three levels of the ICAI CA course have different exam patterns and difficulty levels. The CA Foundation question papers are available in both English and Hindi for all course levels except the CA question papers for Accounting, Taxation and Advanced Accounting.

The exam pattern of every CA course is prescribed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The agency is responsible for designing the CA courses and conducting the examinations as well as awarding the CA certification in India for professional practice. They also decide the exam mode, duration, timing, questions, marking scheme, passing marks and test process. Candidates have to carry a printout of CA Foundation admit card and a valid photo ID. They can carry any of the following:
· Aadhaar card
· PAN card
· Voter ID card
· Passport
· Driving License
Students should not carry phone, watch, smart watch, earphone, Bluetooth device or any electronic items to CA Foundation exam centre. They should also not carry books. Also, there is no provision of bag deposits at the centre, so they must not carry bag or valuables.
