Will I get the benefit of ICAR recognition and LPU is saying that they will get approved by ICAR in 6 months?

Nikhil, ICAR approval is under process. It is a govt. process and concerned body will take their own time however we have initiated process after successful pass out of first batch B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture (in May 2015) as per ICAR guidelines.Furthermore, ICAR is an accreditation body not a regulatory body as in case of MBBS (Medical council of India) and B.V.Sc.(Veterinary council of India) which accredit our program and advise changes (if any needed) to run the program whereas no permission is required from ICAR for such programs.At the same time, number of students from first batch have qualified for JRF test (conducted by ICAR) and cleared with merit positions. Thereby availing ICAR awarded scholarship for doing M.Sc. in various branches of Agriculture namely Plant breeding, Vegetable science., Entomology, Agricultural statistics etc. in top agricultural universities by Govt. of India. Some of these first batch students are also pursuing their M.Sc. in various state agricultural universities (Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore; Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar; Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur; sher e kashmir university of agricultural sciences and technology, Jammu; Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur etc. on scholarships (as cleared with merit positions) as discussed above.Similarly, a few students have also been working with various private industries like TATA Rallis India, Zenesis Agroscience And Consulting Pvt. Ltd, Omics Group etc. where placement has been done either in campus or through joint campus drives.Since our students are accepted by ICAR funded state agricultural universities as well as by ICAR for scholarships, so there is no question about validity of degree. But it will be difficult to give time frame at this moment for approval.

LPU is one of the best choice for agriculture programme. Lovely Professional University is first private university accredited by Indian Council of Agricultural Research. No other private university has this accreditation. LPU is one of the great place for education where the management actually believe on actions rather than words. Whatever they promised they delivered to us along with in campus placement at good package.

LPU is a well renowned university. It is recognised by UGC and also it has got the ICAR accreditation. It is the first private university to be accredited by The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). LPU provides the quality education by the well qualified teachers. LPU has become a brand across the globe. It has various national and international tie-ups. LPU excels in terms of placement as well. Every university is doing good for his students. So it is difficult to say which one is best. But yes, there are certain parameters to compare to select the best. LPU has ICAR accreditation for his agriculture courses. No other private university has this accreditation. Let me clear first what is the meaning of ICAR. ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) is an accreditation from the Central ministry of India related to study of agriculture which is given to those universities who are the best for this field means, if a university have all the resources in terms of labs, fields, well qualified and experienced staff and faculty, hi Tech labs, research background etc. Then this affiliation is given to only that university. It is very difficult for a university to meet the standards of ICAR. LPU is the first private university to be granted The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) accreditation by Ministry of Agriculture due to their excellency in the study of agriculture. Doing any course related to agriculture from ICAR accredited means you have all the skills and you are aware of all the tools and methods required for agriculture. Hi there, the big thing is getting an ICAR because there are so many stakes in getting approval from the apex body to run programs. Infrastructure, state-of-the-art facilities, faculty, course content, and many more constituents together make a programme successful or worthy of approval. LPU did this long ago and is still running the programs successfully. LPU is working as per the ICAR norms. LPU is the only private university that has ICAR approval. LPU students got top packages from leading Agriculture companies. Students of the School of Agriculture are placed in Dhanuka, HDFC Bank, Reliance retail, Syngenta, Bio SEED Nestle, Smur Agro, VLCC, Virbac, Amazon, Sanra organics, and many more. The package really depends on what he can show to the recruiters, how much he is worth or deserved. There were some students who cracked the placement and got offered 1 crore LPA, while many failed to do so. On average, the Agriculture students of LPU are offered and placed in the starting package of 5.5 TO 6 LPA (Fixed salary) while there may be cases of students getting less than that or more than that. As I said, LPU will provide you the platform and the opportunity, but it is really you who have to go and perform on the platform being provided.
