Will it hamper my chances to get into good colleges if I drop a year and appear in subsequent year's CAT?

I will appear this year, but I wanted to know that if I don't get into a good college, should it be better to drop a year and prepare better next time or not to waste time and go for the average college?

I think that it is never useful that way. You need to economize on time, as you are young. You can appear for CAT, but do additional work.

    Dear Shrabandip Mahanta,
Dont be confuse about college selection. If you do best in this year it wll be well & good. If u dont than i suggest you should start your further education from another better college.
If you waste your One year its also consume your money time wealth etc. if you start after 2 year u can start your Job.
    Best of Luck!

It is a better option to pursue MBA from a reputed B-school. If one can wait and do hard work then he can get admission in colleges like IFMR for MBA.

CAT is a competitive exam as you should take a preplanned schedule to crack it, without plan and hard work you cannot crack that much easily.

No, it will not hamper your chances. Prepare well for CAT & get into a reputed college. In between, you can also get some work experience if possible. That will be best for you. All the best.
