Will LPU get ICAR approval within the completion of my degree? I want to join for B.Sc. in agriculture from LPU.

Hi, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is the apex body for coordinating, guiding, and managing research and education in agriculture in the entire country. If the University is ICAR approved, It means the university has all the resources like fields, labs, etc. LPU is the first private University to get ICAR accreditation. The faculty is well qualified and most of them are Ph. Ds and provide full support to the students. Thanks.

Hello Mirza, LPU is one of the best choice for agriculture programme. Lovely Professional University is first private university accredited by Indian Council of Agricultural Research. No other private university has this accreditation. LPU is one of the great place for education where the management actually believe on actions rather than words. Whatever they promised they delivered to us along with in campus placement at good package. The Eligibility of B.Sc. Agriculture is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Intermediate (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) or 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) or 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent.

Well, Lovely professional university is the first private university to get accreditation from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). LPU provides the quality education by the well qualified teachers. LPU has become a brand across the globe. It has various national and international tie-ups. Mirza, ICAR approval is a govt. process and concerned body will take their own time however we have initiated process after successful pass out of first batch B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture (in May 2015) as per ICAR guidelines.Furthermore, ICAR is an accreditation body not a regulatory body as in case of MBBS (Medical council of India) and B.V.Sc.(Veterinary council of India) which accredit our program and advise changes (if any needed) to run the program whereas no permission is required from ICAR for such programs.At the same time, number of students from first batch have qualified for JRF test (conducted by ICAR) and cleared with merit positions. Thereby availing ICAR awarded scholarship for doing M.Sc. in various branches of Agriculture namely Plant breeding, Vegetable science., Entomology, Agricultural statistics etc. in top agricultural universities by Govt. of India. Some of these first batch students are also pursuing their M.Sc. in various state agricultural universities (Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore; Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar; Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur; sher e kashmir university of agricultural sciences and technology, Jammu; Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur etc. on scholarships (as cleared with merit positions) as discussed above.Similarly, a few students have also been working with various private industries like TATA Rallis India, Zenesis Agroscience And Consulting Pvt. Dear Mirza, Hello! All these accreditation need to be renewed after a certain period of time. LPU will surely get its accreditation renewed. You should not worry about this at all. Further choosing LPU for Agriculture is definitely a good choice. LPU became the first private university to get ICAR accreditation. There are a few facts that will help you to understand why I am sure about this. Agriculture Land: LPU has 1200 acre agricultural land apart from the 600-acre campus area. This land is totally used by students for their projects and research. Many students got awards for their projects and research and published the research papers in International Conferences and Journals. Good Placement: The best thing I like about LPU placement is, LPU provides placement classes to all students from their first year who opts for placement classes along with their academic course work. LPU has a good placement record, every year more than 500+ companies including national and multinational companies visit LPU for placement. Infrastructure: All the facilities are available in the campus itself, a student do not need to go outside for anything. In the campus, Central Library, Hospital facility is available 24*7 for staff and student, Shopping mall, Indoor Sports Stadium with 3 Olympic size Swimming Pools, Public/Private Sector Banks, ATM etc. In short, I would like to say that LPU will definitely get approval again in future also. Accreditation is done to ensure the quality of higher agricultural education in Agricultural Universities and their constituent colleges. Hi Dear, LPU is the first private University to have ICAR accreditation. In LPU there are 8 specializations in Masters of Agriculture; Agronomy, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Soil Science and Agriculture Chemistry, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Horticulture (Fruit Science), Horticulture (Vegetable Science) and Horticulture (Floriculture and Landscaping). LPU offers 4 year graduation programme also but student must have minimum 60% aggregate marks in 12th standard and must have studied English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry in 12th standard. There is 5% relaxation in the eligibility to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants) (10% relaxation to outstanding Sports Persons. LPU has very practical and advanced approach in the teaching pattern and you will realize once you get chance to have conversation with any of the Agriculture Students of LPU. Actually they feel very fortunate when got to learn field implementation, basic concepts in yield production. All the best.
