Any chances to get a call from Welingkar or K.J Somaiya?

I got 72 percentile in CAT(QA:91, LR-DI:85,VA:22), 10th-75.85%, 12th-80.5%, graduation-82.8% & 17 months work experience.

You have got a decent profile looking at your previous academic records and work experience. Though the previous academic record is on the higher side your CAT score is little less than the general cut-off. Though you still have other exams like XAT, CMAT, CET, etc. to give and crack Welingkar or KJ Somaiya. Anything above 95% in CET gives you a very good chance of converting Welingkar PGDM Core.
    Hope the answer helps.

As per last year trends, the cut-off of CAT was 86 percentile. So, decide accordingly.

In both of these colleges, for PGDM courses, there will be a GDPI round where they will evaluate you on the basis on your work ex if any, previous academic record, entrance exam score and your performance in GDPI itself. You will be selected for a course on the basis of these factors.

Chances from K.J.Somaiya are low, you can get a call from L.N.Welingkar Institute. As you have a good academic profile, and also work experience will enhance your chances of converting the call. K.J.Somaiya CAT cutoff is around 85-87 percentile. You can look for other colleges too like Christ University, (if interested in finance NIBM-Pune, IFIM-Bangalore IFMR), LIBA, IMI-Kolkata, and BIMTECH-Noida.

Yes, you do stand a chance of getting a call from Welingkar as they consider an overall score of GD-PI, academics and your percentile. Having a work experience would prove to be beneficial for you. If you get into Welingkar you would have a pool of opportunities waiting for you as the placements they offer and the student exchange programs are excellent and you won't find that in any other B-School.
