Apart from IITs, NITs and IIITs, which are the top engineering colleges in India?

IITs, NITs, and IIITs are most reputed and technologically sound institutes in India, but there are some colleges that are equally outstanding. According to various parameters set up by MHRD like teaching resources and outcomes following are some institutes that are ranked amongst top colleges in India: 1: BITS Pilani- BITS Pilani has certainly set a benchmark as equal as some top IITs. Founded in 1929, and located in Rajasthan it is the no. one choice of students after IITs, NITs, and IIITs. 2: IISC Bangalore:IISC Bangalore is the only college managed to secure a top 200 world ranking after IIT Delhi and hence speaks for itself as a preferable college in India giving sharp challenges to IITs. 3: IIST Thiruvananthapuram: Indian Institute of state technology, An autonomous institute under Department. of Space, Govt. of India, focusses on space sciences.With its admissions through JEE advance only this college with three branches as Avionics, Aerospace Engineering, and Physical Sciences. 4: DTU Delhi: Delhi Technical University also is one of the most reputed colleges in India.It is one of the oldest engineering colleges in India and Delhi's first engineering college. It was established in 1941 as Delhi Polytechnic. 5: Jadavpur University, Kolkata: It has been ranked it 16th top university in India.JU has been a rising benchmark in the fields of technology. 6: HBTU Kanpur: Formerly known as HBTI, Harcourt Butler Technical University, located in Kanpur is one of the best universities. Its admission is carried out by UPTU.It is one of the oldest engineering institutes in the country established in 1920. 7: BIT Mesra, Ranchi : BIT Mesra was founded in 1955.With its many international and national collaborations, BIT is one of the best technological institutes in the country. 8: NSIT Delhi: Esablishedin1983, NSIT was formerly known as Delhi Institute of Technology. NSIT is the only engineering college under the University of Delhi.Institute offers BE in many fields including some core ones. 9: PEC: PEC University of Technology, formerly known as Punjab Engineering College was founded in 1921, is one of the oldest and the best universities in the country.With its many outstanding collaborations, this institute provides some attractive courses in core fields of engineering.

There are some good institutes apart from IITs, NITs and IIITs. This list also includes IITs, NITs and IIITs. So, I will mention the colleges other than IITs, NITs and IIITs here: BITS-Pilani Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Anna University IIST DTU-Delhi NSIT-Delhi Jadavpur University BIT Mesra, Ranchi PSG College of Technology Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai PEC University of Technology IIEST, Shibpur TIET, Patiala HBTU, Kanpur College of Engineering, Pune I am doubtful about these but some rank them higher so I will let you know (I personally believe that you should avoid these colleges) VIT-Vellore SRM Apart from them some good colleges which you can go through JEE or KVPY are: IISC IISER Also, check Indian Institute of Statistical Institute if you are passionate about maths.
