Are BCA-MCA or B.Tech-M.Tech good choices for a student who want to become a software engineer as I scored 63% with PCM?

Yes, BCA and MCA are good courses. It will help you in getting good job in IT industries as a software engineer. But BCA and MCA would of 6 years duration. Better would be to go with B.Tech in CSE or IT as it will help you much better. BCA + MCA is equivalent to B.Tech.
