The qualifying marks for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 have been set by CBSE, meaning that students belonging to the general category must score 60 percent or more to pass the exam, while candidates in the reserved category must score 55 percent or higher. Different candidate categories will have different CTET 2024 passing scores. The passing scores are 90 out of 150 (60%), for applicants in the general category, and 82 out of 150 (55%), for OBC/SC/ST students. To be qualified for a teaching position, candidates from reserved categories, such SC, ST, etc., must receive at least a 55 percent on the exam. This suggests that the SC and ST CTE

Yes, CTET passing marks are the same for Paper 1 and Paper 2.

The CTET exam consists of two papers, but the minimum qualifying marks for both papers are identical. This applies to all categories (General, SC, ST, OBC).

    Here's a breakdown:

    • General Category: Needs to score at least 60% (which translates to 90 marks out of 150) to pass the CTET exam (for both Paper 1 and Paper 2).
    • Reserved Categories (SC, ST, OBC): Require a minimum of 55% (which is 82 marks out of 150) to qualify for CTET (applicable to both Paper 1 and Paper 2).

Yes, you can apply for CTET Paper 1 only if you make sure that you meet the minimum teacher education requirement for Classes 1 to 5.

If we talk about Paper 1, CTET generally requires passing of Class 12 with 50% marks and also a 2-year D.El.Ed, or any certain equivalent teacher training qualifications.

But, since you have B.Ed, you are eligible for Paper 2 (Classes 6–8). But, the CTET notification also allows B.Ed grads to appear for Paper 1 only if they have undergone a short bridge course in elementary education after appointment.

The major difference between CTET and UPTET is that when candidates clear the CTET exam, it provides a national-level eligibility certificate that can be used across India, whereas clearing the UPTET exam provides a state-level eligibility certificate that is only valid within Uttar Pradesh state.
