    In Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Environmental Studies (EVS) is a compulsory subject for all students appearing in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination, including students from the Commerce stream. However, the marks obtained in EVS are not included in the calculation of the overall percentage for the 12th Commerce stream students. This is because EVS is a pass-fail subject, and the marks obtained in EVS are not counted towards the final result of the student.     Yes, EVS marks are considered for 12th board exam in Maharashtra. They carry 50 marks weightage out of 650. EVS subject has viva exam, project and seminar which are assessed by a teacher who gives marks. And marks are converted to 50.
