Are experienced graduates preferred over fresh graduates for top B-School admissions?

    Hello,
    There's a whole list about the misconceptions of the top B-schools so let's clear this out, first of all, admissions in B-schools differ from one to another so if you are applying to the institute where experienced candidates are preferred over freshers it would be better to switch.
    So the procedure, criteria and rules of admission totally depends upon the institute. I would suggest you to first decide what kind of top B-school you are looking for and then go through their procedures. Gather information, talk to the alumina's of that particular B-school and then take a decision.

    There are lot many things regarding experienced and fresh graduates getting admission in B-schools. From my perspective it varies from person to person, experience, no doubt has an impact on the person sitting in front of you but what if your knowledge and skills are more developed than that of an experienced person. B-schools want students who are ready to get molded and be ready for industry, they are keen observers and know whom to take and whom not to. If a fresh graduate applies for admission his/her grades can also be a +point for him/her to get admitted in the college and for an experienced person his experience may matter to th

    It depends upon the B-School and its admission criteria, whether they prefer an experienced graduate or not. For example, IIMs generally prefer experienced people because, the structure their course is in such a way. But for most of the B-Schools in India, the course structure is not planned in that way.
    Many of the students think of doing a Post Graduate course just after completing the Graduation and many other think of having an experience before joining the Post Graduate course.     It's nothing like that. These particular criteria is only applicable during the placements. What it takes you to get admission in top B-Schools is the preparation for the the entrances and how well do you perform for their processes.
