Are hostellers allowed to go outside LPU?

LPU is the safest campus. 24x7 security surveillance through 4000+ CCTV cameras is the backbone of LPU security system. Boys are allowed to go out but they have to come back before 8pm but girls have a bit more safe rules. In winters they have to come back to their hostels before 6 pm and in summers they have to report back in their hostels before 7 pm. If the girls have to be on leave for nights then they have to apply for the same through their UMS. They take the hard copy of the approved leaves to be shown at main GATE while going out and coming in. Also, the parents of the girls are informed via text message or call by warden itself. All these rules are for the safety of students. Though the boys are allowed to go out without any permission but they have to return to the university before 8pm.

Yes. LPU Hostellers are definitely allowed to go outside the campus but in restricted manner. 1) Boys are allowed to go outside campus as per requirement but they need to return back & report to Hostel by 8 PM. 2) Hostellers (Girls) are not allowed to go outside the university at any given point of time, to go outside the university, permissions from parents is taken to provide them with the GATE pass. 3) Girls have to enter their specific hostels in specified time duration 7 pm, and they cannot come out the hostels but boys are allowed to roam the university till night. Being an alumni of LPU & a previous resident of LPU Hostel, let me just share with you some of the rules & regulations of Boys Hostel of LPU. 1) 0% Ragging, 0% tolerance to any illegal substances like alcohol, drugs etc. Strict actioned used to be taken against the defaulters in case non-adherence of such rules. 2) Students are not allowed to enter any other Hostel without permission of the authority. LPU has Turnstile gates at major entry/exit points as well as boom barriers for vehicles, thereby ensuring that every movement is monitored. 3) Boys are allowed to go outside campus as per requirement but they need to return back & report to Hostel by 8 PM. 4) Special Permission will be extended to Boys student for night out with the written permission of Warden & Parents. 5) Any publicly offensive acts are clearly not allowed in the university and strict actions are taken against such act. Though there are many restrictions you can observe from the above mentioned points for the hostellers but believe me at the end of day you will find it necessary for all your security & safety. These restrictions would definitely make you learn how to lead your life in controlled environment. Campus Security Surveillance : 1) There are 7400+ CCTV surveillance on 24X7 basis from every corner which is more than the security cameras located in Delhi Airport ! 2) 400+ Security Officials are there. LPU security team includes experienced ex-military men and women. In one word I can say Lovely Professional University campus is the most "Safe & Secured" for both Boys & Girls. Yes! Of Course. Students who are living in hostels are given the freedom to go outside but some rules are expected from the students to be followed diligently. Boys can go outside from Hostel during the working hours without any permission but after the working hours of university, which usually ends at 5:00 PM, you must be present inside Hostel for Daily Attendance. Whenever girls go for day leave and night leave they have to apply for online through UMS and they will be issued a hard copy of it, which they are supposed to show at the main GATE to security guards. Also, the parents will be informed about this by Hostel Wardens through call or text message in their registered phone numbers. For boys, there is some flexibility in rules as compared to the rules for girls. Boys are allowed to go outside and need no permission but they have to come back before 8 PM.

The university is committed to zero tolerance to ragging, alcohol, smoking, drugs and disciplinary misconduct. Automated turnstile gates with biometric machines regulate entry & exit to residential facility. LPU has a set of rules regarding hostel life and its facilities. LPU provides convenience to your doorstep but expects proper adhering to their discipline structure and code of conduct. 0% Ragging, 0% tolerance to any illegal substances like alcohol, drugs etc. Strict actioned used to be taken against the defaulters in case non-adherence of such rules. Yes definitely, hostellers are allowed to visit outside the campus but there are certain rules and regulations which a student needs to consider and follow. It is just same, when the child is at home and parents bind them with some rules to be followed which are for their own safety. Every parent invests their trust in the institute, for the safety of their ward, so it is the responsibility of the University to manage the student by imposing some rules. A student has to mark a biometric attendance while entering or exiting the hostel. Boys have more relaxations in relation to time duration compared to the girl. For example, Boys has to come back and mark their presence by 7 PM whereas Girls need to come back in the hostel by 6 PM. Security guards, cctv cameras all are for their security purpose. Yes, but there are restrictions in timings for hostellers to go out from LPU. There isn't any particular timing for the hostel but students are expected to be back on the university campus by 6 pm. Boys do not have any hostel timing in LPU but at the time of attendance boys have to be inside the hostel and generally hostel attendance timing is 8:00 Pm to 9:00 Pm, you have to be inside the campus for that time, after your attendance are done you can move out of the hostel and roam inside the campus. The hostel has all facilities to ensure that the students are provided with everything they need to be able to give due attention to their academics. The facilities are as follows: A separate residential facility for boys and girls within the campus. Rooms with attached washroom (except in certain dormitory rooms), B.Ed (without mattress), table, chair, and almirahs. Air cooler / Air Conditioner facility in each room (as opted). Arrangement for power supply through dedicated 24 hours hotlines. Geyser in each room to provide hot water in winters (scheduled timings) for two hours per room every day or as decided by the University. In campus Hospital with an ambulance to provide medical assistance to students. Internet connectivity through Wi-Fi system for scheduled timing for academic purposes only and subject to conditions. Power backup for light load only (not for AC/ Geyser/ Air cooler). Mess facility with vegetarian meals only. Parking two-wheeler/car facilities at designated places only. THE HOSTEL TIMING FOR BOYS IS 8:00 Pm The timings vary from summer to winter for girls. Girls get to enter the hostel before 6 pm else late entry is marked. Moreover, there is a proper biometric system for attendance. To go on an outing, there are limited day-leaves and night-leaves, but sufficient per semester.

I am a alumni of LPU and I can tell you take it is actually a good place for ambitious and focused people to study in. If you want to explore, learn, grow and want to get placed in good companies then I must say please go ahead and take admission. Girls are not allowed to go outside without permission I. e without leave ID. In the summer season, they have to enter the hostel before 7 PM and for winter, its before 6 PM. Being a student living in LPU hostel, I can answer this question with my past 2 years of experience. It is noting like hostellers cannot go outside the campus but yes there are proper rules and conditions for the hosteller about timing keeping the safety of students as a priority so that the parents stay relaxed and tension free for their children. University provides all the facilities like ATMs, Groceries shop, Gadgets shop, Bank, Gym, etc. For the student so that they don't have to go outside the campus. Boys are allowed to go outside the campus but they have to enter the campus before 8 PM and for girls, there are some more rules as compared to boys. Girls are not allowed to go outside the campus without permission and they have to enter the hostel at a fixed time, time depends on the season as in winter they have to enter the hostel at 6 PM and in summer at 7 PM. If girls have some work outside the campus, they have to apply for the leave by UMS then the warden will talk to your parents to ask for their permission and give you the hardcopy of the leave that you have to show at the main GATE. There are limited leaves available for the student as per the semester. Hi there, Absolutely Yes, Hostellers are allowed to go outside the LPU Campus provided they meet certain policies and procedures laid down for the same. Well, I have been studying at LPU from past four years and staying in LPU-hostels throughout. Its is better to stay there rather than any outside PG or something. Students can move out of the University on national holidays and on Sundays. In addition to it, if any student is seeking day-out or holiday then he/she needs to apply for the same using the University Management System (UMS) giving proper reason and detailing about the destination of the visit. The same is verified from their parents and their consent is sought by the Hostel Warden. Once verified and approved, a hard copy of the approved request is handed over to the respective student. Student needs to show the approved hard copy at all the main entry/exit points before marching out of the campus and while reporting back as well. This is also to be noted that the day-out leaves or leaves to visit back home are limited in numbers. Girls must report back before 7 PM in Summer and before 6 PM in Winter. However, Boys can report back by 8 PM. All such movements are recorded by completely automated system I. e. controlled by Bio-Metric Machines wherein Finger Impression of the student is a must. Turnstile Gates and CCTVs are also installed for additional safety of the students. Hope this helps. Thank You.
