    Internships may not be mandatory for BMM students, but yes, they are important to let you learn about how the real-world settings of Mass Media work. Some colleges, therefore, include mandatory internships for a time-being to gain students real-work experience along with theoretical subjects for better understanding of their field.
    Internships have other perks as well, for example, the company you're interning with may hire you as a full-time employee in future, based on your potential. Internships also helps in making your portfolio look better.
