Are lateral entry Diploma holders eligible for JEE Mains?

After 12th, I have admitted to the 2nd year of the 3-year Diploma course through lateral entry scheme. Am I eligible to appear for JEE Mains and get admitted to the 1st year of an NIT/IIT on the basis of the Diploma (not 12th)?

Yes, Diploma holders are eligible to appear for IIT JEE 2019, but they will be considered similar to 12th passed candidates.

First of all, it's not 2019. Secondly you didn't answer whether "Lateral entry Diploma holders" are eligible for JEE or not.
