There are definitely PG options near LPU plus you also have the facility of BUS services of LPU that you can opt to communicate. Just adjacent to LPU is a PG Colony named Law GATE Area, which is completely customized to meet the student needs. It is a walkable distance to LPU. Other than this there are near by residential areas where PG facility is available for LPU students, like, Rama Mandi, Deep Nagar, Satnampura etc. However on a serious note I would always recommend to stay inside the campus as there are multiple advantages to it, like: LPU residential facility is indeed CITY IN A CAMPUS. The university is committed to zero tolerance to ragging, alcohol, smoking, drugs and disciplinary misconduct. Automated turnstile gates with biometric machines regulate entry & exit to residential facility. LPU is one of the greenest campuses in the country. Yes, it is actually far better to stay in a hostel rather than PG because I have seen that my known and my friends who lived outside the become mostly irregular in the classes and the common problem was bad company, late-night parties. I have observed the cases like fighting, theft, intoxication are outside only. I have seen parents crying and worried for their children in front of mentors and teachers regarding their low attendance issues, Backlogs, degree delays, etc. So I will prefer as alumni to stay in hostels only. I Have spent my 4 years in the hostel. I loved my hostel life in LPU. I availed 3 seater hostel with AC. I have experienced a lot of good things in LPU as follows. 1. Automated turnstile gates with biometric machines regulate entry & exit of the residential facility. 2. Clean & Green Environment 3. Separate residential Facility for the students with different seater. 4. Rooms are with Beds, study table, chair, almirahs, desert cooler, and geyser. 5 AC rooms are also available in the different seater options like5,4,3,2,1 etc. 6. Differential and hygienic food facility and Mess and canteen facility in every hostel is there. 7. Laundry facility 8. Gym facility to remain fit 9. Over and above the medical facility being provided inside the beautiful campus. 10. 24*7 electricity supply and Wi-Fi. 11. Being an alumnus of LPU is can answer this question. Yes, hostels are so secure and there are so many restrictions on students. Like day scholars are not allowed in hostels. And even hostels are not allowed to go in other hostels this is weird but for security purposes it is good. And for clarity, I have made this restriction in point have a look at below points. 1) 0% Ragging, 0% tolerance to any illegal substances like alcohol, drugs etc. Strict action used to be taken against the defaulters in case non-adherence of to such rules. 2) Students are not allowed to enter any other Hostel without permission of the authority. LPU has Turnstile gates at major entry/exit points as well as boom barriers for vehicles, thereby ensuring that every movement is monitored. 3) Boys are allowed to go outside the campus as per requirement but they need to return back & report to Hostel by 8 PM. 4) Special Permission will be extended to Boys student for a night out with the written permission of the Warden & Parents. 5) Any publicly offensive acts are clearly not allowed in the university and strict actions are taken against such act. Though there are many restrictions you can observe from the above-mentioned points for the hostellers but believe me at the end of the day you will find it necessary for all your security & safety. These restrictions would definitely make you learn how to lead your life in a controlled environment. Campus Security Surveillance : 1) LPU campus is equipped with 6500+ CCTV surveillance a 24X7. There are many flats and PGs located near LPU,but Being a pass out student from LPU,I would advice you to choose hostel .As we know that The major concern of the parents is the security and safety of their children and LPU is well known for its security. Turnstiles gates are there at the entry of hostels so that no other person should enter the hostel. I have lived in a Flat outside Campus and inside Campus hostel too. If I had to rate between the both , The Hostel inside the campus was much much better. Being a girl. I must say that Lovely Professional University is one of the best university. For security purpose it is very reliable for the girls students. It also contributes the gratification to the parents as well because we are living far away from our homes. All facilitates are provided at the Campus Hostel and you will have the complete choice to choose the accommodation that suits you and your budget. Zero Ragging/ Zero Discrimination : Nobody is ragged at LPU, This word actually doesn't exists here. There is a complete secularism in the LPU hostel life as you will find seniors and juniors treated similarly at the Campus and even at the Hostel. Students from the various ends of the country/ neighboring countries come and join LPU and lives in the same Hostel without any discrimination. Food/ Mess : Without any doubt, I can say that the food quality is very good. The schedule followed in messes are structured in a well-mannered form where your morning breakfast might be choices between various type of Paranthas, sandwiches, toasts, and poha with or without butter, in the beverage you will get milk and tea. You will get each and every facility inside the campus like Study room, TV room, Saloon, Photocopy Machines, Departmental store for daily needs, Cafeteria, vending Machine (soft drinks), Lifts and Parking facility,so why to move out. LPU is well aware that now they have a greater responsibility towards all the parents, students, staff, faculty, vendors, and all others to provide them with a safe working environment once the university reopens after the end of this long lockdown. For the upcoming session, considering the health and safety norms, LPU has put in place all the necessary requirements needed for a safe and healthy academic environment that the Chancellor of LPU says. Both have their own significance, but I believe that it depends on your own preference. Let me clear the Pros and cons of the two. 1. Security: Staying in a hostel gives you top-notch security as compared to staying in a P.G, Coz as you are far from your home, so you need to feel that home vibe here also and secondly you have no idea about the environment where you are going. So in order to adapt the surrounding you must stay in a hostel as the Campus have many security guards to keep you safe. As parents are more concerned about the girls, so university has proper time for girls to mark their attendance in their respective hostels. However these timings cause no hindrance to their studies as the libraries are open till 12am at night, and in that case female security guards pick these girls from their respective hostels and drop them too. 2. Facilities: Name a Facility that is not available inside the campus!!! Let it be a bookstore, Uni- Hospital, Gym or let be its shopping mall. Each and every facility is provided here. So why step out, when you have everything in here. Moreover, who doesn't want free wifi 24/7, the internet speed is limited to 50 KBps, however, you can always bypass login authentication using VPN in order to gain the maximum internet speed. 3. Anytime library access: During the day, you can visit the library anytime you want. But during the night, they have a certain time they will take you to the library. Two security guards will take girls to the library between specific timings, and Girls who want to visit the library are grouped together from all the girl-hostels and are taken to the library by two female security guards. 4. Extracurricular Activities: If you are passionate about extracurricular activities like dancing, singing or related to any sports, then that university has certain student clubs where you can register yourself and follow your passion. Yes, you read that right!! Usually, these activities occur at the end of the day i.e. from 5pm onwards and if you will be staying in a hostel it would be easy for you to catch up with those activities and reach your room easily. 5. Food: LPU has huge diversity as students are from different areas and share different culture and background, so keep this in mind LPU has diverse food from different regions of the world, let it be Italian, Chinese, south Indian or African. There are many food kiosks inside the campus from where you can grab a bite from all these food types. Thnks
