No, you don't have to take both the exams. Only one is required. In case you have not taken JEE or your marks in JEE are not much that they can get you admission in LPU, then only you need to take LPUNEST, otherwise, you can get admission on the basis of 60% in class 12th and JEE marks.
If you have 90% or more in class 12th then you can get direct admission in LPU.
LPU also offers scholarship to students on the basis of marks in class 12th/JEE/LPUNEST.

You can get admission in B.Tech on the basis of anyone of them. If you have 60% in class 12 and 80 marks in JEE, you can get admission in B.Tech or you need 60% in class 12 and valid LPUNEST score. As per my knowledge, you have to attempt either LPU NEST or JEE Mains for availing admission in B.Tech, also, it doesn't provide any harm even if you want to attempt both exams, because you can have a scholarship benefit from the exams, it will be applicable whichever is the highest. Also, if you have attempted either LPUNEST/JEE Mains, you can proceed for applying special schedule counselling on or before 20th April 2020 as well as take admission before the last date of admission I. e. 30th April 2020.
