    No, NCERT books are important, but they are not sufficient to prepare for the WBCS Mains exam. The WBCS has such a broad syllabus that you will need to study additional standard textbooks to prepare for this exam. The NCERT books for classes VI to X provide a good overview of the fundamentals of general awareness subjects, particularly for the prelim stage, but they cannot be relied on entirely. You need to study additional books such as:
    1. Spectrum Publication and Jiban Mukhopadhyay's Swadesh Sabhyota for history
    2. Arvind Kumar and state geography books for geography
    3. Nitin Singhania for Indian Economics and Joydeb Sarkhel for Econom
