UGC NET is one of the toughest exam for pursuing post- graduate. NCERT books are the great foundation for UGC NET, and if one has clear all the basics from the scratch from NCERT, then it is very beneficial for the person to clear UGC NET especially the paper I. But, the topics are not in much detail in  NCERT. So, in addition to NCERT one must refer to more books such as refreshers available for the particular course. Beside, NCERT one should also focus on previous year questions, and should also buy mock test papers for clearing UGC NET. As, seeing the paper apttern is beneficiat atmost extent.

NCERT books are a solid foundation for UGC NET, especially Paper 1. However, for Paper 2 (your subject) and to excel overall, you'll need to supplement them with subject-specific textbooks, reference books with practice questions, and online resources like mock tests. While NCERT books provide a strong knowledge base, mastering application and exam-taking strategies is crucial for success.

  • NCERT books can be beneficial for the aspirants in the initial days of preparation, especially for paper 1. However, * will not cover all the topics in detail. Sometimes UGC NET exam covers a wide range from all topics and may the NCERT book will NIT cover the topics in depth. Therefore, the candidates are advised to go through the detailed books and other study materials. Additionally solving previous years' question papers are taking mock tests can also be helpful in preparing for the UGC NET exam.
