The National Defence Academy and Indian Naval Academy Course offer admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings through the NDA exam. To choose qualified applicants for the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers Training Academy (OTA), the CDS exam is administered. The syllabus for CDS and NDA differs. The NDA syllabus is divided into classes 10, 11, and 12. In contrast, the CDS syllabus adheres to graduation-level standards. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) administers the NDA (National Defence Academy) and CDS (Combined Defence Services) exams for admission to the Indian Armed Forces, however their curricula differ.
The General Ability Test (GAT), which has parts on English, General Knowledge, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, and Current Affairs, and Mathematics are the main subjects covered in the NDA exam syllabus.
