Are NIOS students eligible for NEET 2023-2024?

I passed 12th from NIOS board with PCM in 2018 and gave additional Biology exam in 2023. Is such a student eligible for NEET or not to do MBBS course from AIIMS Medical College?

Yes, NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) students are eligible to appear for NEET 2023-2024. The eligibility criteria for NEET require candidates to have completed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects from a recognised board. NIOS is a recognised board, and its students can apply for NEET provided they meet these subject and percentage requirements. Ensure you have the necessary documentation and meet the age and academic criteria specified in the NEET information bulletin. Always check the latest NEET guidelines for any updates or changes in eligibility criteria.

The Supreme Court emphasized that all open schools recognised by CBSE and State Education Boards will now be acknowledged by the National Medical Council  (NMC) for NEET purposes. Consequently,  candidates who have completed their 10+2 education from open schools will now be eligible to appear for the examination.

Yes, it is mandatory to appear for the ToGIGE even if the candidates have appeared for the NEET exam. The ToGIGE is a part of the selection process post the NEET exam. Those aspirants who clear the NEET cutoff are only eligible to appear for this test.

Yes, qualifying the NEET entrance exam is mandatory for MBBS admission in Kerala colleges, including for both government and private quota seats, as per NMC regulations. Candidates just have to clear an entrance exam and participate in counselling process for admission.
