Unless the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) offers a particular pathway or conversion course, a sociology honours graduate with a BE (Bachelor of Engineering) degree is probably not directly eligible for an M.Sc. (Master of Science) programme in Hotel Management or any related field.  A bachelor's degree in a related field, like hospitality and hotel administration, is required for the majority of IHM M.Sc. programs.

The total fee for a MSc course at IHM Chennai is around INR 2.42 lakh. On the other hand, IHM Kolkata MSc fees is INR 1.9 Lacs for a two-year duration. Hence, IHM Kolkata is more affordable for MSc courses compared to IHM Chennai. However, to consider which institute is the best option for MSc, fee structure can be one component, that candidates can consider, but several other factors can be counted while competing with the IHMs, such as placement package, college recognition, ranking, accreditation, etc.
