The General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) programme is a professional qualification that needs actual practice to become proficient, and hence the Indian Nursing Council (INC) does not recognize or approve any GNM offered through an online or distance-learning mode.

To pursue a GNM course, one has to be enrolled as a full-time student in an INC-recognized college or institution that has the capacity to provide the necessary theoretical instruction and clinical experience.
