RGIPT follows the reservation policy as per the Government of India directive. Also, to encourage technical education among the girls, the institute reserves 17% of the seats for female candidates on a supernumerary basis over the current strength. The institute has a reservation policy for various categories as follows:
15% seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates
7.5% seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates
