    Web Design pertains to aesthetics, look and feel creation for any website whereas web development refers to programming and dynamic content management for website. These terms are used seperately in industry and requirements available also demands separate skill sets.
    For Web Design one must porefer to go for courses in Graphic and Web Design which covers creating illustrations, image manipulations, web publishing, web animation etc and for Web Development one must opt for skills like Dot net, Joomla, PHP, Jquery, HTML, Java Scripts, Database langugages etc
