Scope of Mechatronics also extends to areas of Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Automation and VLSI design. Design Engineer, Product Development Engineer, etc. are the common job profiles in which BE/B.Tech graduates in Mechatronics are employed. Mechatronic engineering is an emerging field, but it has been around in one form or another for some time. Mechatronic engineers have been cleverly disguised as many of the following: Automation Engineer, Control System Engineer, Data Logging Engineer, Instrumentation Engineer, Project Engineer, Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, and Service Engineer.

6 years agoLet me tell you this. Mechatronics is a field that integrates various engineering streams together. Pure mechanical engineering had little scope, now-a-days. Being a mechanical engineer, you can explore a lot during your Masters in mechatronics. Besides, engineering firms look for guys having a multidimensional experience, which mechatronics provides you. Lots of technical research is also being conducted in this field. So, go for it without hesitation.
