At 90%+ JEE, should I still consider private Engineering colleges in India?

Yes, you should consider top NIT/IIIT colleges if you're hitting 90–95 percentile. 90 percentile means your AIR is about 90,000 to 1,10,000. At this level, it is very hard for the General category to get high-demand branches like CSE or ECE in top NIT/IIITs. You may only get newer NITs like NIT Pudu
