B.Tech (Distance Mode) in Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) is Approved? Whether It is valid for Govt. Jobs & Higher Studies?

Whether the Open University requires Approval of the AICTE, UGC & DEC?? Because, KSOU has an approval of UGC & DEC. Whether AICTE approval is mandatory??

    Hi Prakash,
As KSOU is an Open University, the most important recognition for this University would be DEC, however, if you want to get into a government job, it would be important to have a UGC approval, and as KSOU is approved by both UGC & DEC, in all probability you would be eligible for government jobs as well. However, the eligibility to apply for government jobs would be company specific so if a particular govt. association has some more requirements apart from this you need to fulfill those. if an Institute is approved by UGC it doesn't require AICTE approval.
Hope this resolves your query. Feel free to put up more queries In cas

Yes, it's valid, but it's UGC approved not AICTE, so some company or state govt may not be accepted, but if you have experience it may be help you.

Whole sole authority for approval of technical courses is AICTE . DEC or UGC cant approve btech . as in job notification employer also clearly mention btech from aicte approved university .but if u look towards AMIE. they r also not aicte approved but ministry of human resources clearly recognize them equivalent.but since last year it is also facing the same problem and in delhi highcourt case is pending. and government is also planning to impart technical edu ( btech) in distance mode so I expect vey soon this matter is going to be solved.

Seems B Tech distance programmes fall short of MHRD and AICTE recognition. The issue remains to be solved. AMIE, AMIETE etc are better choices for the time being, but not for the academic world
