B.Tech (Distance Mode) in Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) is Approved? Whether It is valid for Govt. Jobs & Higher Studies?
Whether the Open University requires Approval of the AICTE, UGC & DEC?? Because, KSOU has an approval of UGC & DEC. Whether AICTE approval is mandatory??

Hi Prakash,
As KSOU is an Open University, the most important recognition for this University would be DEC, however, if you want to get into a government job, it would be important to have a UGC approval, and as KSOU is approved by both UGC & DEC, in all probability you would be eligible for govern

Whole sole authority for approval of technical courses is AICTE .
DEC or UGC cant approve btech . as in job notification employer also clearly mention btech from aicte approved university .
but if u look towards AMIE. they r also not aicte approved but ministry of human resources clearly recogniz

Yes, it's valid, but it's UGC approved not AICTE, so some company or state govt may not be accepted, but if you have experience it may be help you.

my brother just finished diploam from a deemed university tilak maharashtra university now he is offered a degree that is btech by ksou i just wanted to confirm whether doin btech through ksou valid as it is distance education supported by DEC n pls tell me can he get admission abroad a

Hi Prakash,
DEC body has not approved BTECH/MTECH 2 any university,so it wil b not valid 4 any govt (State/Central) Jobs.

I did my B.Tech in 2015 from KSOU and its certificate is valuable and recognized.

Seems B Tech distance programmes fall short of MHRD and AICTE recognition. The issue remains to be solved. AMIE, AMIETE etc are better choices for the time being, but not for the academic world
