b.tech through lateral entry

i am diploma student in civil engineering ,i want to take part in lateral entry exam for further study in b.tech ,my question is can i continue my study in a non governmental collage if i will unable to get a seat in the governmental collage? my financial background is not so strong.

there r several college u can get admission but if u are not getting govt. college please go for the correspondence course by this u can continue ur job as well as ur B.tech
