Between NIT Silchar and IITRAM, what would be the better choice from an academic standpoint (In Mechanical Engineering)?

I have plans to go abroad for MS (from a reputed institute preferably) and take up a technical job in the long run. Now, based on my research, IITRAM is far better in terms of education but the cut-offs for Silchar are way lower (also, it's an NIT) which is what is causing this confusion.

NIT-Silchar is the better than IITRAM in terms of placement. Last year, placements were really good.

Thank you for your answer but I haven't really been looking into placements that much, my concern is quality education.
